The family she grew up with was Catholic and she was raised in the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Her parents enrolled their daughter at the Convent of the Sacred Heart which is a prestigious religious institution. Music has always been a passion for her. When she was a young girl, she began to learn how to play the Piano. When she was thirteen years old the first song she wrote was written. She was a part of open-mic night. Her favorite artists included David Bowie, Madonna and Queen Michael Jackson. When she finished high school she entered at the Tisch School of Art at New York University to study music. Although she was not able to complete her studies and she resigned from and began her own musical career.
